As I watched I thought about my personal philosophy as a father and reflected on some things that I can do better. It was a healthy exercise. It reminded me of my duty and refreshed me spiritually. Come on Alex..... a movie? Really? Yeah... really. It was THAT good. This is coming from a guy whose top 5 movie list includes Smokey and the Bandit and Back to the Future.
I don't want to spoil the movie, but if you're a Father, check out Courageous. You and your family will be glad you did.

Alex, our daughters are aching for us to see this movie because they said that our family will relate, but they won't say more than that. My husband is a Deputy Sheriff in Harris County (Houston) for more than 20 years. We've lived the life of understanding a police officer in more ways than one, but the way my daughters spoke about this movie...I have been apprehensive. Augh. Good to hear that it's good for fathers. Maybe my husband really needs to see it; the police officer stuff must be important for our girls...

It's worth your and Deputy Dave's time! Excellent movie. The officers are all central to the story, but the main story line is about fatherhood more so than their line of work. Excellent, excellent movie.
